christmas recap

The holidays are finally over and I wanted to post my favorite Christmas picture from this past year.
Above: Our Christmas decorated living room. I was gift wrapping so the coffee table was a little cluttered, but I still think the living room felt very comfortable and cozy. Below: These are the cupcakes I made to give as Christmas gifts for my cousins. Surprisingly, the cookies and cupcakes I gave my cousins came out looking and tasting nice, but I do not think I will do it again as I spent the whole morning and day cooking- it was exhausting.

Above: Maddy wearing a pretty red bow for the Holidays. Below: Toby enjoying his new Christmas presents from his Mom & Dad. He never stops playing with his new bone and the gingerbread toy is always in Maddy's mouth.
The last picture I remember sending to Mike while he was at work. The dogs were knocked out from playing around the house all day and I was just relaxing at home before my payback. Working on holidays suck because you sacrifice sleep to spend time with family, you still feel like your missing out on family time when you have to leave to go into work, you miss sleep to prepare things for the holiday, and after spending all day awake with the family you still have to spend all night awake working. This picture makes me think of the "calm after the storm" of the holidays, after all the craziness it's nice to just sit back and enjoy the holiday season with quietness.

Goodbye and Hello

It's been forever since I've posted on my blog, forever being it's already the new year! Much of what has recently happened in life is moving from the apartment to the Diamond Bar house. Last week, Mike and I went to turn in our keys, clean up, and say good bye to the Glendale apartment.
Look how lonely the bedroom looks with absolutely nothing in it.
Above: The living room looks so much smaller with nothing to fill the space. Saying goodbye to our amazing mountain view of Glendale. Below: Our kitchen was probably my favorite thing about the apartment, I was in love with the counter tops and sink.

Now on to the new. The Diamond Bar house is pretty impressive in itself, I adore all the space inside and out and it feels much more comfortable than an apartment. No more worries about noisy neighbors, parking spaces, or common areas. Oh and no more of Mike worrying about Billy the Rodeo, he is back in Pasadena and we have a new car. I have not given a name to my Honda Insight, but looking for any clever suggestions.

purse

For my mom's birthday we went to Disneyland! Here are the pictures, enjoy!
Above: My dad and mom posing near the entrance. They haven't been to Disneyland in like 10 years, so they had a blast. Below: My dad came wearing a purse. Really it only contained water bottles, but he carried it the whole afternoon.

Above: Waiting in line for Space Mountain. They were checking the map for our next destination. Below: This was the castle after the Magic fireworks show, it was great! I love the surprise at the end of the show, it makes me happy!

new discovery

Went to Disneyland this weekend and we got to visit places we usually don't get to explore. Fun times!
Above: Went on the fancy riverboat. It was hot out so it was a nice breezy ride. Below: We went on the canoes. It was horrible because there were these Japanese 12year old boys sitting in front of us with very bulky backpacks. One of those boys hit baby ducks with his paddle, it was a disaster!

Above: Didn't ride the wheel, but got to see the new face on it. Goodbye Sun Wheel hello Mickey! Below: Went on the Monster's Inc. ride at California Adventure. We're probably too big for the ride, but it was still like being in the movie.

Above: Walked through the Animation Station and watched Babe's beautiful artwork move. He's got so much talent, it's crazy! Below: Walked through the Confectionery Station and was amazed by these adorable candied apples.

I know I go to Disneyland almost every week, but every time I go there are new things to see and do. That's why its great to have an annual pass, especially since we don't live that far from the happiest place on earth.
