south park

Maria introduced me to this website:
http://www.sp-studio.de/index.htm
I spent all afternoon creating these. I hope you guys enjoy them just as much as I did making them...
Me and Toby at the dog beach. The website newly added animals to their 'stuff' list, but you can only have one dog in your image. I decided a Toby looking dog because there wasn't a dog that looked like Maddy.
Above is suppose to be me in front of the castle at Disneyland. Maria made the one below, but this is me at work. I love the coffee and phone in my hand.
I was being a goof and wanted to make a silly one. This is me when I first wake up in the morning, notice my major bed head.

retreat

This work day is dragging......

I desperately want to be sitting on the beach with the sand between my feet watching the dogs splashing through the water. These photos are from our last dog beach trip and it was so amazing watching the sunset and the moon rise.

sicky

For the past week, almost, I've been refusing to accept the fact that I've been sick and just fighting a bad cough and sniffles. It was awful being sick on my off days, especially because the weather was so nice outside all weekend. Honestly, I felt jealous of all the healthy people who were comfortable wearing their short shorts and tank tops on a bright sunny day and I was stuck wear long sleeves and a stuffy scarf to keep my neck warm. On the other hand, the upside of being sick made me appreciate the things in life that make me happy. For one, I thank the lord I have an amazing bf who, despite what I say, sticks by my side and takes care of me. Love.
My love for Starbucks helped soothe my spirits with many cups of Chai Tea Lattes made with soy.
I am very thankful for the Kimberly Clark corporation for producing Kleenex tissues. My nose is going through a rough phase during this time of sickness and the gentleness of the tissue makes me a happy camper. Trust me, when you're really sick and there is no Kleenex around and you have to settle for less, the feeling is so painful.
Yesterday, I lit my Henri Bendel candle and it made the whole apartment smell amazing! After cleaning up Maddy's mess in the morning, the scent of apricot goodness helped warm my soul and put me asleep for a good nap. The smell was so amazing and sweet we slept the whole night with the candle burning in the room. Thank you to the Yoo Family (Desiree for picking it out) for a great house warming present.

friendship bell

Our weekend outing consisted of a trip to San Pedro to see the Korean Friendship Bell. It was a place I've never heard of before, but glad I went because I will definitely return.
The place had a beautiful park overlooking to water. The day was so clear we could actually see Catalina Island.
It was a wonderful visit. Lots of culture, scenery, and relaxation for one afternoon.

game

This game is from DP. I love her blog and wish mine was just as interesting as hers and with this game I am another step closer.

Describe your heart using:
1 picture
1 poem
1 song
1 phrase or quote
1 item of clothing
1 place
1 Disney Princess

The Picture:
It's a photo of my pups playing at the dog beach. When they are happy and enjoying life at my heart is filled with joy!
The Poem:
Hog O' War by Shel Silverstein

I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.

The Song: Any Gamma Phi Beta song or cheer makes my heart happy.

I love the Crescent Moon
Shining in the sky
I love the Pink Carnation
'Til the day I die
True to our motto
Founded on A Rock
Gamma Phi Beta, Gamma Phi Beta
Gamma Phi Beta, Gamma Phi Beta

The Quote:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

I Corinthians 13:4-8 (Bible)

Item Clothing:
Cotton Racer back Tank Tops, I have them in every color. Comfort makes my heart smile.
The Place: Walking on the beach during sunset or just anytime of the day. This photo was taken at Huntington Beach at the Dog Beach.
Disney Princess: From my favorite Disney movie Aladdin, Princess Jasmine. The story makes my heart flutter.

much needed

Girl scout cookies are sometimes the devil. Samoas and Thin Mints are definitely my favorites, but every time I eat them I just can't stop. Yesterday I finished the rest of my box of Samoas (no, I didn't eat the whole box to myself) and still felt like I wanted to eat more. I really need to trick myself into loving vegetables just as much as I love the bad stuff.

These photos are much over due: Birthday celebration at Universal City.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to get these photos up, but here they are. I should include more photos, but I'm not sure if everyone wants their pics on here (too bad these peeps don't have a choice, they're stuck being my bff's). Fun times with the people I love, just like a birthday celebration should be.

Look who got a haircut? He no longer looks like a clone to Zoe and he looks more like his uncles. Noah is so adorable, I love my godson!
I have been neglecting my blog these past couple days at work because I was entranced by all the residential listings online. Not that I am going to move in the near future, but the browsing gave me a chance to see what I like and dislike about homes these days. Plus, browsing for homes fills the void of making unnecessary online purchases.
Zoolander was on at work today! This movie has so many stupid lines I love it. A few of my favorites: 1. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that. 2. They're break dance fighting. 3. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. 4. Are you having a whack attack? I saw you this afternoon, dum dum. **These are just one of those movies I could watch over and over and not get tired of it.

monica

After work yesterday we went to the Geisha House in Hollywood to celebrate my cousin Monica's 26th birthday. The evening was lots of fun, food was good, and the restaurant was the place to be. I think I say this every time I hang out with the Fajardo clan, but I love seeing family that I do not get to see as often as I'd like. It was cool too because Mike got to meet some of the family without being too overwhelmed by the numbers (haha, he has no idea).
Geisha House was a nice choice for a birthday celebration. Aside from the huge crowd later on in the evening, the restaurant itself kept me entertained with the people and exciting art. I look forward to our next date there, the food was pretty amazing.

safety academy

This morning I attended one of my community events for work. I signed up to help Arlene with the Kids Safety Academy class, and today was bicycle safety and nutrition. Watching all the kids ride around made me really want to get a bicycle. Of course, I was also being a nerd and thinking to myself how exciting it would be to put on a cool helmet and safety gear. I'm pretty sure if the weather is right my next shopping trip will include browsing through bicycles.
The nutrition aspect of the class was pretty interesting as well. It was a huge reminder of how bad sugar is for our bodies and how easily it is consumed by everyday Americans. I learned a couple facts that are going to stick with me for a long time: #1 The average American consumes 175 pounds of sugar per year #2 There are about 6 1/2 teaspoons of sugar in the Hi-C juice box shown below.
Both of those facts grossed me out! It is no wonder that Americans these days are struggling to fight obesity, they do not know what they are consuming. I am not saying I eat the healthiest I should, but I like to think I am pretty aware of what I am consuming. However, I know there is still a lot about nutrition I would still like to learn about. Who's for teaching?

desserts

We watched Friday the 13th (2009) last night. Yes, I was a brave cookie and went to the movie theaters to scare my pants off. I was very disappointed by the remake, but I have to admit the movie was pretty loud and I did get scared. I'm not sure if my expectations for the movie were too high, but the movie was awful. The remake had bad acting and did not seem realistic at all, it was just a huge lack of creativity by the director.
For Cynthia's birthday, we had ice cream cake! Birthday celebrations are always fun, even if its something simple as buying lunch, it's always great to embrace the people we have in our lives.

treasures

Guess where we went this weekend? Actually we went yesterday, but nonetheless we went to the Griffith Park Observatory. It was a cold and cloudy day out so we decided to do something indoors. We started our trip with coffee, hot chocolate, and a cranberry almond scone at the little cafe shack below the Observatory (the scone was really yummy). Given the weather, the view of the city and mountains from the Observatory was still pretty amazing. It was nice because instead of smog haze the rain made things look a bit more clear. We went last week to the Observatory also, but it was closed on Monday so we stayed outside only and took in the view.
Before last week, the last time I was there was before they remodeled the place. I love going to places like Griffith Park and the Observatory because I take full advantage to embrace the relaxing effect nature provides and the opportunities to learn about things. It is so interesting to realize how small we are compared to the whole wide universe. Browsing through the exhibits my favorite activity of the day was stepping on all the planet scales and finding out how much I would weigh on each planet. If I were on Jupiter I would weigh 280 some pounds. Yikes! Glad I won't be visiting that planet anytime soon. And if I went to Pluto I would weigh less than 10 pounds. You should try visiting the Observatory sometime soon and step on the scales to see how much you'd weigh on different planets.
We also watched National Treasure this weekend too. I loved this movie and wondered to myself why I did not watch it earlier. Not that I fully give into the idea of government conspiracies, but I love the adventures the characters get into. I can't wait to watch National Treasure 2 (which I have on PSP), but I want to watch it on the bigger screen so I will have to try and find a way to hook it up to my television from my PSP. We'll see how it works out, otherwise I'll just rent it and have it delivered home.

snazz

I don't know how long it has been since I first said I wanted to get a Beach Cruiser, but I know it's been a long time. Today I was browsing and I noticed that they have new models, which I immediately developed a crush on a few. I'm not sure if a bicycle will be my next purchase because I should actually be finishing up my credit card payments, but it will definitely be a difficult decision. I tell myself I will erase my credit card debts, but really I don't have the discipline to do so because my shopping addiction always kicks me in the butt. I just felt jealous when someone told me today that they felt really great sending their final payment to their credit card.
During my lunch hour today I watched the movie: Practical Magic (1998). It is such a girly movie, but I made everyone watch it upstairs because I love Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman (sometimes). This movie came out when I was in middle school and it totally brings back memories. I remember being in middle school and going through a witch or magic fascination phase. It was nothing serious, but I remember my friends and I bought lots of candles and wanted to go to the Monastery at night, which I never did because I was too much of a scaredy cat. Good thing we can always look back and laugh at how silly we were as kids.
The best part about today is that it's my Friday! I'm not sure what adventures I'll get myself into for the next 3days, but rest assure if it's something interesting it will be on my blog for next week.
