Guess where we went this weekend? Actually we went yesterday, but nonetheless we went to the Griffith Park Observatory. It was a cold and cloudy day out so we decided to do something indoors. We started our trip with coffee, hot chocolate, and a cranberry almond scone at the little cafe shack below the Observatory (the scone was really yummy). Given the weather, the view of the city and mountains from the Observatory was still pretty amazing. It was nice because instead of smog haze the rain made things look a bit more clear. We went last week to the Observatory also, but it was closed on Monday so we stayed outside only and took in the view. Before last week, the last time I was there was before they remodeled the place. I love going to places like Griffith Park and the Observatory because I take full advantage to embrace the relaxing effect nature provides and the opportunities to learn about things. It is so interesting to realize how small we are compared to the whole wide universe. Browsing through the exhibits my favorite activity of the day was stepping on all the planet scales and finding out how much I would weigh on each planet. If I were on Jupiter I would weigh 280 some pounds. Yikes! Glad I won't be visiting that planet anytime soon. And if I went to Pluto I would weigh less than 10 pounds. You should try visiting the Observatory sometime soon and step on the scales to see how much you'd weigh on different planets.
We also watched National Treasure this weekend too. I loved this movie and wondered to myself why I did not watch it earlier. Not that I fully give into the idea of government conspiracies, but I love the adventures the characters get into. I can't wait to watch National Treasure 2 (which I have on PSP), but I want to watch it on the bigger screen so I will have to try and find a way to hook it up to my television from my PSP. We'll see how it works out, otherwise I'll just rent it and have it delivered home.
